Wow, the hail was freakin' awesome today!!! xD  It was seriously the FIRST time i ever saw hail!!  Haha.  It was so cool.  So I was in yearbook n all of a sudden it started pouring like we've never seen before n all of a sudden, someone was like, OMG HAIL!!! Then like everyone rushed to the door n there was a like a serious doorjam for awhile.  I got out n I was like, WHOOOAAAA.....n see like tiny lil' bead-like ice.  It's so freakin' awesome.  It reminds me of....snow!  These kinds of things don't happen in Cali!!!  I sure wish it did more often.  Afterward wen it calmed down, me n Jean walked around the halls a lil' n looked at the prettyful scenery. 

Yah, that was like the highlight of my day =)

       Summer's pretty great so far. ^^;;  On Wednesday, I went to the beach with Chrissy, Jennifer, n Siu-Ling.  First, we played Cranium cuz supposedly we wanted to wait until it was warm n I made a sand mermaid.  [Maaan I wanted to take a picture of it n post it here so maybe u guys can like get a pic of ur friend's face n photoshop it so that u can see how it loox like if u were to bury ur friend in the sand n give em a mermaid body.]  I *could've*, but a little kid came by n ruined it.   N that little kid was Siu-ling. -.-  Apparently, he accidentally smashed one boob while we were playing Cranium, n afterward, wen Chrissy n I went boogie-boarding, he figured since he ruined one part, he might as well mess up the rest. -.- 

       Speaking of boogie-boarding, the waves were *not* good, not at all.  It was high-tide.  N for a second-timer, that's not good.  [Even Jen Nguyen said that the waves weren't good for her either.]  Chrissy n I went out boogie-boarding, n our fun got cut short.  I, for one, scraped my knee a little on the lil' rocks in the sand on the shore, n Chrissy  told meeh that she fell on her stomach n sides n that it hurt.  Not to mention that I fell underwater a few times. ^^;; 

       Next time, I'm bringing a first aid kit!  ^^;;  Don't worry, my tiny lil' knee scrape wasn't bad *at all*, but if you think about it, salt water, in contact with a cut, oOhz yes, it hurts.  I kno alot of u might be out for the beach, so here's some tips if ur a beginner like me.

» bring a first aid kit.  [Okay, maybe some bandaids n cottonballs n distilled water is good enough.] 

» go earlier in the day as in before 3 or 4 pm.  The later in the day it is, the higher the tide is.

» this isn't boogie-boarding related, but if u bring out any food to the beach, make sure you HIDE IT.  Lol.  I jess remembered something hilarious.  Before we played Cranium, Jen n Siu-ling bought lunch n had leftovers.  What happened was, the leftover was a hamburger in a normal plastic box, n apparently, a seagull was able to smell it, n actually OPENED it.  Yes, the seagull used its beak, to poke it, n he was able to open it.  Then, we saw it take the hamburger out, n swallowed parts of the hamburger like the lettuce in one bite.  Who knew that the seagull was smart *and* had a big mouth. o.O  So much for was was to be Christina's food. ^^;;

    Well, those are my beach tips for now. ^^;;

        As for today, I baked cream puffs - or at least attempted to.  Jess in case if ur ever feeling bored or wanna bake, here's the recipe I used:

CREAM PUFFS

1 cup water

1 cup flour

1/2 cup butter

4 eggs

Place butter and water in saucepan and bring to a quick boil. As soon as the mixture comes to a boil, add the sifted bread flour all at once, lower flame and with spoon stir vigorously for 2 or 3 minutes, until mixture leaves sides of pan. Remove the pan [yes, seriously, remove from the pan from the fire first!  ^^;;]  from the heat and then add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition, until the dough is smooth and glossy. Drop mixture by tablespoons, 3 inches apart, on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven 450-F for 10 minutes, then at 400-F for 25 minutes. Cream Puffs should be puffed high and golden-brown. Remove to wire cake rack. Cool, cut in halves and fill.

CREAM FILLING

2 cups milk

3/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 egg yolks

Warm milk, add sugar which has been mixed with the flour, beat egg yolks and add to the milk and cook until it coats the spoon. Cool and beat occasionally to prevent crust. Add vanilla

        Maaan it took meeh three hours for this.  Lol.  I'm such a dork.  For the bread part, I had to do it twice cuz I screwed up.  You know how you have to put the ingredients in a saucepan while cooking first?  Well, let's jess say I accidentally missed the part where it says "remove pan from heat"  and *then* add eggs.  And so, for my first try, my dough had scrambled eggs all over. -.-  I'm soo smart.  XD  SO I had to start over.  Apparently, I messed up again, cuz there's one part in there that says drop the mixture by tablespoons.  The thing is, mai mom did not want to buy the lil' chain of spoons [ones where it has the actual measure of tablespoon, 1/4 tbsp., etc.], n wat I estimated to be a tablespoon was alot more than wat it was.  SO after it was in the oven, I took it out, n they were REALLY HUGE.  lol.  They remind me of those breads that you'd buy at J.J. Bakery.  XD

      As for the cream part, it did *not* work for me - at all.  For the first part, I don't know exactly what I did wrong, but apparently, when I was to cook it, somewhere along the way, the eggs in the "cream" started scrambling. O_O  Afterward, I took it out, n it looked like egg tart either that or it looked like scrambled egg soup.  Ewww.....  >_<  [That is SO not cream!]  I think what happened was that I didn't warm the milk, [so WARM the milk, even though ur gonna cook it anyway, if ur doing this, guys]  n I *think* [I don't remember, but]  I put 1 tbsp. of flour instead of 3.  ^^;;  [Yes, I kno, I'm a dork. XD]

       So I tried again, n followed literally everything on the recipe.  When I was cooking/stirring it on the stove, I really thought it was gonna be cream puff cream cuz no eggs started to scramble n it did actually look creamy.  The thing was, that the cream looked weird.  It was not white, n when I test-tasted it, it tasted like Chinese New Year cake!  wtf! o.O  It was even the *color* of Chinese New Year cake, lol.  [I think I found the secret recipe n I'll give it to u guys if u want it lol.]  I have no idea how that happened.  The only thing that I could've *possibly* done out of the recipe was that I hadta refrigerate it for awhile cuz I hadta go out to eat w/ mai family n I couldn't possibly leave it out for the milk to spoil. 

      Anyone a lil' more professional cook wanna explain to me how these phenomenons occur?  *cough*MELISSA*cough*  Lol.  *looks at her with puppy dog eyes*

      In the end, I gave up on the cream and stuck whip cream in "cream puff."  The cream puffs actually tasted pretty good.  I actually liked that they were pretty huge and gigantic, lol.  [I wish I could show u a pic, but no can do w/ a digi cam out of batteries n no program on mai computer to read the memory disc. :/ ]
